Nelson’s comeback in Game 1 Finals

Orlando Magic’s head coach Stan Van Gundy was not really impressed on Jameer Nelson’s performance in Game 1 of the NBA finals against the Los Angeles Lakers. Nelson scored only 6 from 3-of-9 field goal attempts. He played well in the second quarter but he struggled later in the second half of the game. Nelson made nice assists to Gortat’s dunk and Lewis’s 3-point shot. He also scored a jumper and fed Courtney Lee for a driving layup, giving the Magic a 33-28 lead in the second quarter.
The whole Magic team doesn’t have much to say about Nelson. He greatly contributed during their 2-0 victory against the Lakers during the season. He averaged 27.5 points in the two games. He’s one of the key players added to Magic’s lineup. Until he suffered a shoulder injury, Alston was grabbed by the Magic closely before the playoffs have started. Weeks later after recovering from a surgery, Nelson has already been playing with the team during practice sessions in the playoffs. The team’s management has done a great job in Nelson’s fast recovery. Their overall effort and workout for him somehow paid off since he was expected to recover fully in August but now it was earlier from the expected date.
Nelson’s performance in game 1 did not make Stan van Gundy think negatively of his team. He is still determined that they will make it to the finals. The LA Lakers scored 100-75 against the Orlando Magic in game 1 giving them a 1-0 lead in the finals series.

The Last Magical Shot of LeBron

Game 2 of the Eastern Semi-finals game at Cleveland - it's 4th quarter and the Magic leads with a score of 95-93. With only a second to go before the game ends and the Cavs has the possession of the ball. Inbound pass to LebRon James with the flying hand of Hedo Turkuglo and Rashard Lewis toward him. LebRon is positioned at the middle 3-point lane, determined to take a game-breaking 3-point shot. He puts up the shot at the buzzer and made it.

The whole Quicken Loans Arena has gone loud with fans cheering for 96-95 victory of the Cleveland Cavaliers over the Orlando Magic. The Cavs and Magic have tied 1-1 in the playoffs series. The Cavs had a hard time defending their homecourt in a series of two games against the Magic. The whole team did not expect of the many struggles they encountered in the court. It was a miracle shot for the Cavs. James' 3-point clutch was indeed a game-breaking shot. The Magic was confident to win the game with only a second to go. But they forgot to tightly defend the superstar.

Now the Magic will be defending their homecourt at Amway Arena in Game 3 of the Eastern Semi-finals. But the Cavs are more focused after that morale-boosting Game 2. Now, who will be bringing the name of the Eastern Conference in the NBA 2009 Finals?

Nuggets @ Lakers

The L.A. Lakers just successfully defended their home court from the raging Denver Nuggets with the score 105-103. That was a close fight game. Carmelo scored a career-high 39 points while Kobe with 40 points. The Nuggets did an outstanding team play every minute of the semi-final game. Billups did play-safe assists to his teammates. Inside scoring of the Nuggets was lead by Martin and Nene. Both were outstanding in the game. Carmelo Anthony made many 3-point shots as wells graceful dunks and layups to the hoop but Kobe Bryant countered it driving layups, dunks and jump shots. The Lakers did their best in "D" and also in the offensive plays. Pau Gasol contributed also to the overall scoring in the paint. Nevertheless, the Denver Nuggets still have a greater chance to win the 2009 NBA Finals.

Post-Valentine's Day

24-hours after Cupid's day, I'm on my way to a friend's birthday party. Old friends I've met and we're enjoying the night filled with Mojitos Tequila, Red Horse Beer, Bailey's and some Emperador Brandy. Whew! I say, that night really made us drunk! That Mojitos Tequila kept the laughing and humor going the whole night. I had my tummy ready for that drinking session. I ate much during the party. We then played NBA 2k9 on XBOX 360 (wow! that was my first time to put my hands on that sweet XBOX 360 gamepad :) ). I let all my worries freed that time, except for one thing - my midterm exam in entrep 101. But nevertheless, I still got a special exam. Saved! (I got a hangover actually).

More blessings to my friend, Kareen, who was the birthday girl that day. :)

Allegations to Chris Brown?

I was watching TV yesterday when a local news announced something that is very surprising. It says that an R&B superstar was accused of criminal offense, and that is assault. I cannot believe that the 19-year-old, hip-hop, R&B superstar, Chris brown was the one being reported in the news. It was said that Chris surrendered himself to the police and after being interviewed, he was released for $50,000 bond. Could that be possible? This young superstar has never been seen with bad image. He has been the ultimate teen pop icon with a very positive image. No reports about him being accused of some criminal offenses. But now, it was reported that he assaulted a woman. A woman unidentified but the news said that it was his R&B star girlfriend, Rihanna. Well, Rihanna's public speaker said that the young woman was not involved in the incident. Further reports of this controversial issue will truly reveal the who's and what's of the story. But for sure, Chris brown's endorsements and reputation will be affected of this issue.
